Existing characters cannot go back to Haven and Crucible, yet.<\/p>\n<p><i><b>Note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> We hear the feedback that the current iteration of Haven quests is a little too theme park. We agree, but have been working on overhauling the missions framework and systems to give ourselves the tools to create more varied and custom missions. Now that most of that tooling is in place, we\u2019ll start refining and improving the mission flow to give you a little more freedom and agency.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\" style=\"--awb-margin-top:40px;\"><h3>So, What is Crucible?<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crucible is the planet that Haven is orbiting, and it has a very <\/span><b>hostile environment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that is not suitable for colonization, but is <\/span><b>rich in resources<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to experience a nice hot tub, this could be the right place for some of you.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyway, the Transplanetary League (TPL) has erected a satellite training base that you will visit on your initial journey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Completing your initial training on Haven and earning your PIP&#8217;s (Points in Progress), you will be granted access to Crucible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you arrive on Crucible, you will be greeted by members of the TPL who assist you in surviving on the planet. You\u2019ll receive <\/span><b>Klaatu and XP<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> awards along the way, as well as earn your <\/span><b>Space Suit<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, needed to travel to the TPL Starbase in space.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everything else should be self-explanatory, and if it\u2019s not, that\u2019s exactly why we\u2019re running these playtests; please let us know if anything is confusing or tedious! We\u2019d even enjoy hearing if you think it\u2019s fun! (Or if Crucible is too hot)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Systems Pioneered for Crucible<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enhanced our mission system to support training on the Crucible planet.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Introduced a group travel system for moving all players to and from a planet when needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Gameplay Updates<\/h3>\n<h4>Movement<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As some of you have noted, our traversal speeds were way too fast and made moment-to-moment gameplay too slippery, and the worlds feel smaller.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Movement <\/span><b>speeds<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across the board have had a balance pass to be closer to our vision, including characters, creatures, and projectiles.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"--fontsize: 24; line-height: 1.2;\" data-fontsize=\"24\" data-lineheight=\"28.8px\"><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this change, you\u2019ll be able to see more and react to the surroundings, such as creature attacks. Slowing things down a bit opens up opportunities for us to add more ways to increase your speed in the future. We will continue to balance the movement changes as the gameplay progresses, keeping a close eye on community feedback &#8211; aka &#8211; your feedback!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>GravMesh<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The GravMesh has been updated to use <\/span><b>Battery<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> instead of <\/span><b>Stamina<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with a lower max Battery and a faster regen rate than what you\u2019re used to, so you\u2019ll have shorter but more frequent usage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Grenade Launchers<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A new weapon type has been added with a focus on <\/span><b>arc projectiles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y <\/span><b>AoE attacks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. You can acquire these via new crafting recipes that are unlocked through the crafting skill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En <\/span><b>Skills menu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has a few new abilities to unlock for Grenade Launchers as well as nodes to upgrade them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fire a Singularity grenade to pull multiple enemies in and then use Uplift to fire an antigrav grenade to lift them into the air, where you can DPS them with ease!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note that the Grenade Launcher tree is still getting worked on and will have more to unlock soon.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"--fontsize: 24; line-height: 1.2;\" data-fontsize=\"24\" data-lineheight=\"28.8px\"><\/h4>\n<h4>Goodbye, Old Weapons!<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this update, we\u2019ve started to move away from the original placeholder weapons like the Omniblaster and Companion Orbs, and are heading towards the intended design of <\/span><b>fuller weapon trees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The legacy placeholder weapons will no longer be acquirable, but you can keep them if you have them until the next wipe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Ability Loadouts<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This update contains the first iteration of <\/span><b>Customizable Abilities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (a.k.a. specials or active skills) loadouts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will now find <\/span><b>Loadout Kiosks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> available in Camps (of all tiers) and certain pre-determined locations, like in the TPL Starbase. Accessing a Loadout Kiosk will allow you to <\/span><b>swap<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> out the Abilities attached to the E and Q keys on your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">currently equipped tool<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For most existing tools, you won\u2019t be able to do much yet, but Pistols and Grenade Launchers have a couple of Abilities you can experiment with. Our focus for this release was the base system itself, and we\u2019re working on adding content to it next.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Map overhaul<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Previously, we allowed you to create a simple ASCII-based map (2D map) to assist you in the survey game with the Pathfinder. We have moved this to a <\/span><b>dynamic terrain map<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (M key) that you can unveil by surveying with the Pathfinder. Eventually, we intend to make map data tradeable, allowing you to add custom waypoints.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Healix<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We updated the model used for the Healix and slightly increased its targeting radius. It should now be more effective.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What are you waiting for? Go grab one, you squad needs healing!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"--fontsize: 24; line-height: 1.2;\" data-fontsize=\"24\" data-lineheight=\"28.8px\"><\/h4>\n<h4>User Interface (UI) Updates<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We have been continuing to move away from how our UI worked under the hood. You will notice new graphics and an overall enhancement. Affected UI elements:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Public Events<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; Those appearing on the left side of the screen, displaying data about special events like meteorites and boss invasions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Navigation points<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; The waypoints you see for missions and other locations in the world.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>World UI<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; Emotes over creatures, and nameplates over characters.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Worldspace UI Updated<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; Nameplates and other UI you see that are not in general ui windows. This should make them more accurate, have less jitter, and the colors have been adjusted.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Crafting UI<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; The crafting screen is still in progress, so the version you will see in-game is going to have a little less functionality than the previous version. Applying this temporal change helps us solve several problems that were under the hood.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Chat Style<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; We added some simple customization options that allow you to change the color and appearance of some of the chat messages. These options can be found on the ESC menu under \u2018Gameplay\u2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Key Rebinding<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; Yes, we heard you! Several keys can now be customized through the Controls section on the ESC menus to allow key binding.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Consumable Assignment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; Now added to the inventory screen. On the right side, you can select consumables and then drag and drop your consumables into the radial menus for quick access with the F key.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fixed a bug that would <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">center your mouse<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> cursor on screen when selecting tabs in the inventory UI.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fixed an issue where placing <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fabricator<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tiles would be blocked by a few areas of the UI.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Updated our <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mission tracking<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to include a counter in case the mission requests more than a single item.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>What else is in the Update?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Added some new <\/span><b>movement animations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for when you are going up or down a slope.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improved <\/span><b>dodge roll<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> animations and made changes to animation time and dodge durations. Previously, it was a 0.25s animation with the same time in dodge duration. Now it\u2019s 0.5s of animation with 0.75s of dodge duration, giving players a little more defensive leeway.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Shields<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have been simplified to no longer have a passthrough damage threshold. Previously, they would only block up to a certain amount of damage from a projectile and destroy it if the projectile was weaker than that threshold. Now they\u2019ll block projectiles regardless of damage unless they break the shield\u2019s remaining capacity, in which case the projectile will keep only its excess damage.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Made a significant improvement to the <\/span><b>performance of trees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Dense forest planets should give a noticeably higher FPS, as distant trees now use our new custom billboard tech. This tech upgrade will soon be applied to building blocks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fixed several issues with how we hold and animate <\/span><b>tool swapping <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that could leave your arm in a very painful-looking position <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that the Healix power could not fix<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In addition, we fixed a few issues with tools needing to be holstered\/unholstered to get them to work properly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fixed a bug with tools not functioning correctly when holstering them while climbing and vaulting.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fixed a bug making tools equipped on slots 2-4 not function properly after loading back into the game.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resolved some issues with the collections system, making it more accurate when updating.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Building tiles should now have outlines around them when selected with the fabricator.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New 2&#215;2 floor tile variations and 1&#215;1 rugs have been added.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Known Issues<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When traveling through a portal, you may find yourself a short distance from it, as if you were still walking.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Newer creature drops sometimes show up as purple boxes while in the world.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moving midair after jumping is currently still a little faster than the new walk\/run speeds. This will be fixed, so enjoy your bunny hopping while you can\u2026<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You might occasionally see 2 public event alerts on the left side of your screen for a single event. This is visual only and goes away if you open a full-screen menu like the Inventory.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new slope animations might not end (or \u2018exit\u2019) as early as they should in some cases.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"--fontsize: 24; line-height: 1.2;\" data-fontsize=\"24\" data-lineheight=\"28.8px\"><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We thank you once again for all the feedback and bug reports you\u2019ve shared with us so far.
